Rodolfo Dordoni Dress-Up Sectorial Sofa For Cassina A sectional sofa envisioned as a custom garment, with sophisticated details reminiscent of bespoke tailoring and a wide selection of elements to combine in arrangements or use individually. The pleat on the front and back of the backrest-armrest, encases a zipper that extends to the base, and the gros-grain piping around the sofa seat cushions announce its luxury and artisan heritage. The geometric lines and asymmetrical elements, like the integrated chaise longue, lend versatility, while the open slant of the backrest/armrest emphasizes its inviting allure. The higher backrest cushion, matched with an additional bolster, lend greater comfort to the lumbar spine and softness in the shoulder area. PADDING Seat in variable density polyurethane foam. STRUCTURE Fir plywood with elastic webbing. DETAIL Gros-grain piping around the seat cushions and bolster A sophisticated haute couture design featuring elegant details reminiscent of classic fine tailoring. Special stitiching around the seams on the backrest/armrest creates a refined dart, from which a zipper runs to the base of the sofa, just like on a dress. Its appearance is further enhanced by grosgrain piping around the seat cushions, available in black, grey and latte. Dress-Up! has an extensive range of elements that can be combined in numerous arrangements or used individually; from the corner element in two lengths to the higher backrest cushion, paired with an additional bolster for greater lumbar and shoulder comfort. The geometric lines and asymmetrical elements, such as the integrated chaise-longue, make the sofa unique and versatile, while the open-tilt backrest/armrest emphasizes its welcoming shape. The match-ing ottomans, available in two sizes, have the same grosgrain piping, plus a vertical zipper along the side. A series of low tables and coordinated cushions complete the product family. About The Designer: Born in 1954, member of the Milanese tradition that generated designers such as Castiglioni, Zanuso, Magistretti and de Lucchi, graduated in architecture at the Politecnico of Milan in 1979. Since then, he has designed for most of the leading names in the furniture and lighting sectors. For some of these, as head of design, he sets and co-ordinates the strategy of the product. Since years, he worked as a designer and a consultant for high level brands, for product design with Artemide and Moroso, and for shops, showrooms and exhibitions with Panasonic and Dolce & Gabbana. He also designs housing projects, villas, industrial buildings, restaurants and hotels both in Italy and worldwide. In 2005 he founded, with Alessandro Acerbi and Luca Zaniboni, the Dordoni Architects Studio, which is dedicated specifically to architectural planning and interior design.
