Very unusual Georgian revival sofa by Howard and Sons with mahogany show wood and box strung decoration. Howard and Sons of Berners Street in London were the foremost upholsterer of the period. They held a Royal Warrant, supplied important houses and hotels all-over the world, including the Savoy hotel as well as castles and Royal residences including Queen Mary's Dolls House in Windsor Castle. This sofa is based on the Baring design with the addition of show wood to the front and lower edges all round and siège de duvet treatment to the seat arms and back. A very comfortable sofa especially considering the diminutive footprint,
