Swedish Karl Johan Style Bench w/ Fabulous Pyramidal Back Pediment, Early 1800s

A Swedish Karl Johan style bench from the early 1800s. This 19th century Swedish painted wood sofa bench features a pyramidal back pediment with a five-pointed star at the top center, high arms and tapered legs. The overall color of this piece is a light grey-green with some traces of light blue. The legs and accents throughout are more of a tan-green color. There is a new custom seat cushion of neutral cream colored Belgian linen. This piece would work really well in a sun-room, living room or perhaps entryway. The Karl Johan period follows the Gustavian period in Sweden.
