About the Item
Refined Venetian drawing room dating from the latter part of the 18th century, consisting of a sofa, two armchairs, two chairs, and an elegant coffee table with a green marble top. The wooden structure is entirely lacquered and finely gilded in gold leaf, with carved details of floral motifs and interwoven ribbons, typical of the neoclassical taste. The seats, partly upholstered and covered with light blue and gold damask fabric, maintain a decorative harmony perfectly consistent with the period. The upholstery is in good overall condition, with slight wear on the armrests and some stains consistent with age. The oval coffee table features a precious green Alpi marble top, shaped and recessed, supported by turned and fluted legs with gilt elements.
The state of preservation of the entire living room is good: the structure is solid, with normal signs of time, including lacquer wear and some chipping, particularly visible on the legs. The living room, in its entirety, testifies to the elegance and refinement of late 18th-century Venetian production, with references to the Louis XVI style. Such complete and well-preserved objects are particularly sought after by collectors and interior designers today.
