Adriano Piazzesi (1923-2009) was a renowned architect hailing from Florence, Italy. He embarked on his architectural journey at the esteemed Faculty of Architecture in Florence, where he first encountered the influential concepts of Frank Lloyd Wright. During the vibrant 1950s and 1960s, Piazzesi collaborated with fellow architects on various building designs, exhibition stands, and the creation of family residences in Florence. In 1962, Piazzesi joined forces with Enrico Cambi and Luciano E. Nustrini to craft the groundbreaking 'Antiques Exhibition in the Modern House.' The following year, he participated in the Artemide-Domus competition, designing an exquisite lamp. Notably, the lamp design exemplified his innovative approach to lighting. The 1970s marked a new chapter for Piazzesi as he ventured into the realm of furniture design. One of his earliest masterpieces was the Premier armchair (1969), a groundbreaking creation that defied convention by forgoing a traditional metal or wooden structure. Instead, this visionary armchair relied on a substantial leather belt to hold it together, captivating audiences with its unique blend of elegance and ingenuity. The resounding success of the Premier armchair led to the birth of TreD, a distinguished furniture company that would leave an indelible mark on the industry for over four decades. TreD's portfolio showcased remarkable designs such as the iconic Okay Sofa and chairs, along with the striking Splash and Spring armchairs. Each piece exemplified Piazzesi's unwavering commitment to innovation, quality, and timeless design. Adriano Piazzesi's exceptional career as both an architect and designer continues to inspire and influence the world of design, leaving a lasting legacy that transcends generations
