About the Item

Joseph André MOTTE (1925-2013) & STUDIO STEINER (manufacturer). . Rare three-seater sofa, model 800, created in 1958, with a matte black lacquered steel frame and a straight back on an original base that is very rare (most were made with tubular bases). . A truly very rare model. . Seat and backrest in good vintage condition and entirely upholstered in brown fabric, also in good vintage condition. . The sofa surround is made of white vinyl. . As you can see in the photos, some straps are missing underneath; I don't have time to fix them; they cost around fifty euros and are quite simple to attach. . A wooden board is positioned under the seat cushion, and you can sit on it without any difficulty; People have been sitting on it for over 20 years 🙂 . Dimensions: 180 cm x 75 cm high x 73 cm deep x 34 cm seat hight . Vintage conditions but so gorgeous and rare. . You can easily use another fabric if this one doesn't suit you.

The previous owner is 1m90 tall, this lounge chair will accommodate people of all sizes ??. . Giovanni Offerdi ITALIAN, 1927-2007 About his mid-century modern furniture designs, which marry minimalist simplicity with elegance and symmetry, Italian designer Giovanni Offredi once said, "Beauty should not be confused with appearance, for the latter is the superficial part of the form". Born in Milan in 1927, Offredi was not trained as an architect, unlike many of his contemporaries in the first half of the 20th century. He also didn't start designing furniture until later in his career. Its first known pieces of furniture were commissioned by wealthy Milanese families in 1960. It was not until the late 1960s - when Mr. Offredi met Sergio Saporiti, owner of Italian furniture manufacturer and design store Saporiti - that his furniture designs have become more prominent. In 1970, Offredi joined forces with Saporiti and produced several lines of innovative and modernist furniture. Among the most outstanding pieces by Offredi are the Wave chair, sofa and chaise longue, with its soft curves, the Onda coffee...

"Concha" Sofa by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler, Modern Brazilian Design, 1950s
By Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler
Located in New York, NY
Designed by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler, modern Brazilian sofa, iron, and velvet. Brazil, circa 1950s. Shell or "Concha" sofa is made of iron and recently reupholstered in yellow velvet by the experienced craftsmen in our team. The upholstery was chosen considering the contemporary proposal of the piece. The sofa features a comfortable seat, clean design, and freedom of user movements and is constructed in a frame with metal rods elegantly positioned to give strength to the piece, a common trait of designers. The buttons velvet coated between seat and backs were used, by the designers, for an excellent velvet finish, and the restoration proposal was to maintain them. Martin Eisler and Carlo Hauner were the primary designers for the iconic Brazilian furniture...
