About the Item
The best of Italian design, this ‘Tucroma’ sofa features a tubular chrome frame, original buttery ochre leather upholstery and thick saddle leather straps for a look that's both chic and timeless.
This sofa is guaranteed to impress. Its rarity and pristine state make it a true collector's item.
Designed by Guido Faleschini for i4 Mariani Italy
Italian-Swiss designer Guido Faleschini was born in Italy in 1924. He trained as an architect in Milan and received his degree in 1942. He went on to continue his education and received a degree from the Superior School of Art where he was awarded the first place prize at the end of his course. In 1960 he graduated with his Architectural degree from the University “Ateneaum de Lausanne.” Shortly after, he began teaching at the same school as a teacher of Architectonic Composition in the Italian section of the University.
Faleschini was also a devoted painter. From 1950-1968 he won many prizes in painting competitions.
He would go on to work for various notable manufacturer companies including Pace Collection, i4 Mariani and Arflex. His work would go on to be exhibited in international trade shows. He also worked on furnishing private houses and retail stores during this time. His works have been featured in the collections of the Musuem of Modern Art in New York and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
Condition :
The sofa is 100% original. The very soft, buttery cognac leather is in perfect condition. This sofa is a rare find, especially in this condition.
