About the Item

Designed by Nanna + Jørgen Ditzel in the 1950s, this elegant model was manufactured by Søren Willadsen, is known as the Vita sofa. The silhouette pulls from traditional forms but is crafted in an open, organic design that reflects a certain femininity that only a female designer could capture. It invites you to sit with a cradle-like quality; the leather seat almost suspended from the wooden frame. The piece looks exquisite from any direction. The Vita sofa was first launched by Søren Willadsen in 1951. This piece is upholstered in the classic congnac analine leather typical of the first years of release. Aniline leather is known for its natural appearance, softness, and beautiful patina that develops over time, showing natural markings and variations which this piece truly exhibits. The frame is mostly exposed and constructed in white oak with an equally warm patina representative of its vintage.
