1910s Vienna Weave Piano Stool Bentwood Thonet Design, Adjustable, by Fischel

About the Item

Impressive original 1900s to 1910s piano stool by D. G. Fischel, Austria. The original design had been made by Thonet. Dark Brown Bentwood with even darker varnish in a mahogany vibe. The beautiful Vienna weave seat comes in a light brown colour and is adjustable in height. Makers mark ''Fischel, Austria, Czech.Slov.Est.'' pressed/burned into the wood, additionally a ''Fischel'' paper label on the other side of the inner. Fischel was the third largest maker after Thonet of bentwood chairs and had an estate in Czechoslovakia.

    Rewoven. Wear consistent with age and use. The Vienna weave has been renewed in about 1990. 4 New screws have been added then underneath the seating.
