1950s Evertaut Original Machinists Chair, with Foot Support '2518'

About the Item

1950s Evertaut Original Machinists Chair – With Foot Support (2518) 1950s Evertaut Original Machinists Chair – With Foot Support. In it’s heyday Evertaut was the British competitor to Tolix, Multipl’s and Fibrocit. This chair is one of their iconic designs developed for the growth of seating in workshops, telephone exchanges and factories, a result of the Industrial need for seating. The chair is totally original made from tubular steel with the focal aluminium foot rest principally used by telephonists and machinists. The chair is in exceptional condition, we have simply cleaned and wax finished it to preserve the original colour and patina. Evertaut still exists in Birmingham to this date but has diversified into contract seating for auditoriums. Shot at 53cm seat height. Maximum seat height 63cm, lowest 53cm. WORKSHOP REPORT Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
