1950's Fischel French Ox Back Dining Chairs - Good Quantity Available.
Fischel was founded in 1871 by Czech born David Gabriel Fischel, a successful vegetable oil merchant, using the first hand knowledge of his eldest son who had worked in one of Thonets Czech factories. First production was made in Germany in Niemes near the Danube. Later production moved to France in Alsace and sales offices were opened in most major French cities as Fischel became a major chair producer. These chairs date from the 1950's, an unusual shape for Fischel using mainly solid and not their traditional bentwood. Over scale Ox backs, chunky seats with a rich colour and character. We service and wax each chair before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. Seat Height 47cm.
Workshop Report:
Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
