19th Century French Louis XIV Carved Walnut Stool with Needlepoint Tapestry

About the Item

This elegant antique fruitwood stool was crafted in Southern France, circa 1870. Square in shape, the stool stands on heavily turned legs decorated with hand carved diamond shape medallions over an elaborate stretcher. The seat is upholstered with the original colorful floral needlepoint tapestry. The large seating is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorns a rich walnut patina with pastel colors in the pale green and beige palette. Measures: 22"W x 22"D x 20"H.
