Black forest bear bench Produced I southern Germany using wood from 'The Black Forest" in southern Germany on the Swiss and French Borders, having great attention to detail and incredible realism, this example is in excellent original condition with minor repairs and 'age related wear' Welcome your guests with a welcoming Black Forest bench in your Hall. Carved out of solid wood by an expert artisan, this Black Forest bear hallway bench was made in the early 1900s. Two charming bears have the carved bench in their paws. They are exceptionally carved and and have warm facial expressions with glass eyes. each bear has his own characteristics. The bench itself exhibits Black Forest design details involving leaves and branches, all beautifully carved with much attention to detail. LOUIS SUE AND ANDRE MARE This rare Art Deco large oval mirror made by Sue and Mare (Louis Sue, 1875-1968, and Andre Mare, 1887-1932) has a frame of hand-carved gilt wood. The upper section has a floral carving with silver gilding that extends to golden vases on the sides, with another floral carving on the bottom section. The original bevelled glass is still intact with minor foxing. Many of their designs consisted of sumptuous materials, fine craftsmanship, and freshly cut motifs. They made their creations in the limited, exclusive range of small editions or even pieces made for the wealthy people. Louis Sue and Andre Mare exhibited pieces at the famous 1925 World expo 'Arts Décoratifs' with "Le Musée d'Art Contemporain", they also made the interior of the Pavilion of the French Embassy...
