A superb all-original Arts & Crafts oak pub stool crafted in Birmingham by Gaskell & Chambers in the early 20th century. Features a round top raised on striking arrow feet and tapered splayed legs united by a lovely stretchers. Thick top with handmade dovetail joints. Rare and marked stool. Circa 1930s Great for an Arts and Crafts or Mission Style (inspired) interior. Or to add something different for that vintage eclectic or minimalist interior Finding this rare Arts and Crafts stool in this very good condition made this find even more rewarding. When you are looking for good and rare pieces in the Arts and Crafts Style then you will know how difficult it is to find beautiful and good condition. This rare design on four perfect legs and with circular seat is an absolute joy to look at. Especially with the marvelous patina underneath the laquered surface this stool will look great, no matter where you decide to place and use it. Strong and stable as the day it was handcrafted and that is also because of the thickness of these solid oak 'chairs'. It can easily take an adult of up to 200 pounds lbs each. The stool comes with the original Gaskell & Chambers maker's plaque underneath the seat. Stools of these true British professionals are very hard to find and that too adds to the collectability and value of this rare and timeless piece. Condition: Very good original condition Structurally sound and in good order. Light wear and tear but these are most definitely part of the charm of this original piece.
