About the Item
5 circular backless bar stools. 29.5" tall and settling to about 29" when seated, 19" wide (at the foot ring, which is set 13" from he floor) . Produced to an industrial and commercial grade with thick steel - not wood. Extreme attention was given to the production of these stools and you will note the knife edge design of the legs whereby they taper front to back and top to bottom by folding steel and then the weld was entirely eliminated for a smooth flawless look. We do not know who made these stools but we do know they are produced to the highest standard. They are swivel and have heavy duty swivel mechanisms and self leveling feet inserted in the legs. The steel ring is attached through screws. Evidence exists of old labels underneath that were below the cardboard so we know they have been reupholstered at least once before. We date them to the 1950's or earlier. They have the classic atomic look but are most certainly in the style of Jean Prouve and would suit a residential or commercial atmosphere seeking an industrial high-end look. They have marks and scuffs to the steel and paint losses.

Multipurpose Furniture. We do not know exactly what this is. It could be a display table being 17.5" tall or it could be a seating arrangement with tables. Or it could be a cocktail table or merchandise display table. The smaller black laminate tops are 12" and the larger rosewood laminate tops are 17.75". It is overall 29" deep and 59.25" wide. It was purchased years ago from a family who owned a Lightolier store and had all the built-ins and seating done by Harvey Probber, and given the construction, it would be consistent. Especially the rubber feet at each stem is very much seen on Harvey Probber pieces.
