About the Item

Barbora Žilinskaitė [Lithuanian, b. 1996] Roommates Stool [Turquoise], 2020 Wood dust, ply, pigment, varnish, glue 17.25 x 17.25 x 13.75 inches 44 x 44 x 35 cm Edition of 10 Born in 1996 in Kaunas, Lithuania, Barbora Žilinskaite is a designer living and working in Brussels, Belgium. Seeking to distance herself from boundaried definitions of creative practices, Žilinskaite's output approaches design through a sculptural lens with a focus on material experimentation. Interested in exploring the interaction between human and object, through her practice Žilinskaite explores what emotions may be provoked, how habits can be changed or new routines formed through this relationship. Žilinskaite graduated from Vilnius Academy of Arts in Lithuania with a B.A. degree in product and spatial design.

Faye Toogood [British, b. 1977] Pile, 2022 Hand-carved oak Measures: 16.5 x 20 x 16.25 inches 42 x 51 x 41 cm Edition of 20 British designer Faye Toogood has emerged as one of the most prominent women in contemporary design today. “Whether you are a fashion designer, a furniture designer, or an interior designer, the materials you can get your hands on are essential,” she says. Toogood was born in the UK in 1977 and graduated with a BA in the History of Art in 1998 from Bristol University. Upon graduation, she worked as a prop stylist at The World of Interiors before establishing Studio Toogood in 2008. Working in a diverse range of disciplines from sculpture to furniture and fashion, Toogood often reinterprets and reinvents classical tropes and references from art history by introducing a new aesthetic. Since the conception of her immediately recognizable voluminous Roly-Poly chair (2014), she has been considered among the great form-givers of the 21st century. Her career is marked out by the discrete Assemblages, each of which conjures a compact world of interrelated ideas, forms, and materials. Assemblage 5...

Misha Kahn, "A Little of This and a Little of That", 2022
By Misha Kahn
Located in New York, NY
Misha Kahn [American, b. 1989] A Little of This and a Little of That, 2022 Ceramic Measures: 36 x 48 x 20.25 inches 91 x 122 x 51 cm Misha Kahn has emerged as one of the leading creative voices of his generation. Through a wildly imaginative approach that embraces spontaneity and non-conformity, Kahn allows the illogical and the irreverent to take over his entire process. He employs everything from lo-fi and ad hoc techniques—such as improvisational molds and collage—to high-tech tools such as virtual reality and robotics. Born in Duluth, Minnesota in 1989, Kahn graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Furniture Design. Soon after, he gained recognition when he was featured in the Museum of Arts and Design's Biennial (2014). Unafraid to push boundaries, Kahn is determined to question the accepted way of doing things, driving him to self-invent, adapt, and further processes in a myriad of mediums including metalwork, glass, wood, textiles, ceramic, bronze casting, fiberglass, and cement. Voracious to upend traditional techniques, he embraces the opportunity to learn from masters in their respective crafts. Kahn’s acclaimed woven Scrappy series (since 2015), is the result of a collaboration with Gone Rural, a female group...
