About the Item

Barth Stool by Le Berre Vevaud Dimensions: D 37 x H 45 cm. Materials: Solid basswood, covered by mineral plaster and lacquered in Aubergine ALV-L0038 glossy color. For over 15 years, Raphaël Le Berre and Thomas Vevaud have been writing beautiful pages of interior architecture together. With precision and acuity, they deploy a singular decorative vocabulary, in the manner of the great French ensembliers whose attraction to exceptional craftsmanship, authentic materials and meticulous color schemes they share. From Parisian mansions to London penthouses and Mediterranean resorts, interior designers have a vast field of expression. They love this spirit of cosmopolitanism, which sharpens their curiosity and strengthens their ability to adapt. The duo questions its style according to the lifestyle of its customers, the type of location and the natural environment. Raphaël Le Berre and Thomas Vevaud assert their taste for a certain eclecticism. While the timeless sophistication of Art Deco, the avant-garde spirit of the Bauhaus and the poetry of the Memphis movement continue to guide them, they follow in the footsteps of artist Ado Chale, famous for his experiments with metals and other composite materials, and architect Charles Deacon, creator of singular houses with elliptical curves. Jacques Couëlle’s architectural creations, at the crossroads of mystery and utopia, are also a powerful source of inspiration. Traffic flow, light distribution, functionality and privacy are all imperatives and necessities that are taken seriously, on a par with aesthetic expression.

Assento Stool by Macheia
Located in Geneve, CH
Assento Stool by Macheia Handmade In Portugal. Dimensions: D 55 x W 75 x H 40 cm. Materials: Natural dried bulrush and galvanized iron. Inspired by Tanho, the most iconic piece of the Bunho technique, Assento is a hybrid between a sitting stool and a side table. The bulrush spiral extends into a metal arc that embraces the wheel into the metal structure. The low seat’s organic shape represents a release from the spiraling motion of the wheel. The Collection zooms in the Bunho technique - a unique portuguese basketry technique that shapes the natural fiber Bulrush (Schoenoplectrus Palla), into a intricate mesh of knots and stitches. Nowadays, the Bunho technique is kept by the hands and know-how of only two artisans in Europe, One of them is Manuel Ferreira...
