About the Item

Available today, this magnificent set of four Brazilian Modern stool/trunks are made of solid Brazilian Rosewood (known as Jacaranda) and loose cushions (seat & backrest) in white cotton fabric. Each module has a lid that opens and closes for storage. The wood has been restored and displays colored veins making the piece to standout. The Mid-Century Modern stools/trunks are modular and accommodate to almost any space, size, and need. Depending on the arrangement, they can become a sofa, a coffee table, or stools. Sold as a set of 4. Sizes by display type: • Each Module: H40, W60, D60 (cm) H15.7, W23.6, D23.6 (in) • As sofa (in line): H40, W240, D60 (cm) H15.7, W94.5, D23.6 (in) • As coffee table (large square): H40, W120, D120 (cm) H15.7, W47.2, D47.2 (in) This set effortlessly flexes into any Mid-Century Modern, modern, Danish modern or contemporary environment. It can also work indoors or outdoors. The last images showcase the timeless stools in vintage publications. About the author Celina Decoracoes was created in 1951 when Munis Zilberberg took over the family business - a small upholstery workshop that worked on refurbishing sofa beds and antique furniture. The name is a tribute to her mother, Celina Zilberberg. Celina Decorações embraced the term "interior architecture" and proposed complete ambiances to the public using the company's furniture, appropriating the mass communication vehicles to launch itself. About Brazilian rosewood, also called Jacaranda, is perhaps one of the most beautiful woods in the world. It is regarded as one of the finest tone woods; hard, stiff, and highly resonant with a glass-like ring that sustains; it has a floral scent, like roses, thus the name. However, extensive overlogging over the past three centuries has virtually eliminated this tree from the Brazilian forests, so that today it is not supposed to be logged. The only material that can be sold legally is old stock. By owning a vintage piece made of old Jacaranda, you’re not only getting a beautiful collectible but also helping this species to recuperate. .
