This sculptural hand-carved stool is part of a line of contemporary furniture designed by blending digital technology with fine traditional craftsmanship. The stool features two crisscrossing buttresses that twist 180 degrees to engage in dance that challenges our conception of space in furniture. Please note this stool is made by order with COM upholstery.

    The Oblique Burl stool is made using an Ash frame, sustainably sourced from an English timber merchants and hand carved and finished in our London studio. We use 100% hand picked Egyptian cotton that meets industry regulations for environmental safety, ethical production and the use of non – harmful chemicals. We blend the cotton with a Viscose flax, which stems from natural fibres and is processed in order to meet the qualities and abrasion required to satisfy European industry standards for both manufacture and use. Our products are made locally to us in South East London in small batches so as much as we can, we reduce the movement of our items and the possibility of generating unnecessary energy and material waste. The Oblique fabric collection was developed through the dissection and reduction of blocks of text. Interested in how non-verbal communication is evolving and questioning the importance of physical paper letters, the studio took influence from the mail art...
