Carved Walnut Upholstered Footstool, c. 1900-1910
This antique walnut footstool dates from the early 20th century, likely around 1900-1910. It features a carved wooden frame with shell motifs on the knees and ball-and-claw feet, typical of the Victorian and Edwardian periods.
The seat is upholstered in a floral damask fabric with yellow stripes. The upholstery shows signs of age with some marks and stains, but it adds to the overall character of the piece.
The frame is in solid condition with minor age-related marks, and the carving remains in good condition. An interesting maker's plaque from Thomas Clarkson & Sons is found on the underside, indicating the piece’s provenance.
