About the Item

Early 19th century walnut stool from England. The seat is caned and is surrounded by a hand carved frame. The seat is supported on hand turned barley twist and block legs, joined by fabulous hand carved stretchers with pierced decoration depicting facing dolphins flanking a hand carved crown. The side stretchers are hand turned barley twist for added design and support. This is a gorgeous and early piece and is raised on hand turned feet.
