Early 20th Century Japanese stool that can also be utilized as a side table. All solid wood construction, I believe it to be Japanese oak put together with nails. It is a very robust, weighty and sturdy piece . With a rich patina from over a hundred years use of use and time that has given the wood its rich color. A simple yet very architectural design that will fit into many interiors that is both rustic and modernist.
