About the Item

Efesto Stool by De Castelli Dimensions: W 36 x D 42 x H 45 cm Materials: Polished Stainless Steel Other versions are available, please contact us for any request. More than mere furniture, the Efesto stool is a sculpture for the home which exalts the brand’s manufacturing capabilities: by curving and bending sheet metal, brass is manually shaped and hammered to create its unique triangular cross section. The polished finish further highlights its sinuous shape. Entirely without mechanical joints, Efesto’s ability to support heavy weights is created through its meticulously designed structure. Technical savoir-fair and the intrinsic qualities of brass elevate it beyond a functional object to a unique, sophisticated design piece. DE CASTELLI “HARD COUTURE” Faithful to its decision to reinstate the special role of metal in design and experimentation, De Castelli infuses artisan ideas and workmanship into industrial processes, leading to entirely original results. The encounter with design inspires an approach to materials founded upon respect for their potential, be it hidden or obvious, which emerges slowly in a collection of pieces that, despite being part of a series, remain unique. Unique not only for the hand that has created them, but also for the singular cultural path that focuses on the aesthetic (and not just practical) value of the primordial material with which De Castelli shapes living spaces. A BESPOKE APPROACH Each object, even in the repetition of form, is a creative act in and of itself, one that incorporates a heritage of constantly-evolving expertise and research. The equation that relegates ‘cold’ metals to the margins of furnishing projects is thus overturned, bringing iron, brass and copper, in their infinite variations and finishes, to the centre of an entirely renewed stage, allowing them to finally shine with their own light. SUSTAINABILITY De Castelli has always been committed to making the entire production cycle increasingly sustainable, aware that metal, the material with which its business identifies itself, is precious and must be treated with care, without waste. PEOPLE FIRST The wide spaces of the De Castelli headquarters in Crocetta del Montello (TV) allow those who work to enjoy environments where order, cleanliness and safety are always maintained and guaranteed. An attitude of attention and respect for people that has led to the shared ethical code.

A Stool by Jaclyn Pappalardo Dimensions: W 53 x D 41 x H 43 cm Materials: Mild steel powder coated. Jaclyn is a designer and maker based in London. Her background in set design informs her creative work as a designer. Colour and texture play an important role in developing each and every project. With a particular interest in the use of seating, Jaclyn looks at chairs not only as a functional object but rather as a study of body, shape and language. Her work incorporates unconventional design techniques that stretch far from traditional craftsmanship. Exploring new techniques and material driven processes such as metal forming and non-traditional upholstery, she builds on similar profiles and repetitive patterns in the aim of creating something timeless. Jaclyn’s work has been published in Arcipelago, Modern House, Dezeen, Vogue and Luncheon magazine. Represented by The Radford Gallery & Fels World gallery in London UK. Opinion Ciatti Tab.u Small Stool
By Opinion Ciatti, Bruno Rainaldi
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Take a wooden frame, cover it in aluminium and then work its surface, ""scrunch” it by hand to achieve a crimpled profile. This is the process at the core of the Tab.u Collection, stools and tables with absolutely distinctive lines. The low Tab.u stool, the firstborn in the family, is a really versatile object. It is perfect in any environment and for all uses: around the table for an unexpected guest, in the bathroom to rest objects or towels, in the living room when there is no more room on the sofa or in the bedroom instead of the usual bedside table. Its elder brother, Big Tab.u is a traditional tall bar stool. It is stunning around a counter or a kitchen island, both at home or in the most glamorous clubs. The family is complete with the addition of the Tab.u Mirror and the Tab.u Lamp...
