About the Item
The Flora bar stool is composed of just three pieces of steel: an L-shaped back piece that touches the floor and rises up again at an angle to create a footrest, a rectilinear seat and front support, and a simple, stabilizing cross-bar across the front. The sling seat has straps on the underside which allow it to be tensioned as the leather breaks in. Designed for Flora bar at the Met Breuer.
Measures: Seat height is 26", suitable for counter heights in the 36" range.

Steven Bukowski
Steven Bukowski designs functional and expressive furniture in New York City. His work explores the space between art and design, drawing heavily from his familial background in fabrication and craft. His rich understanding of form, color, materials, and manufacturing processes lends itself to a collection that is thoughtfully designed for a lifetime of use. Steven founded his Brooklyn-based design practice in 2016. In that same year he designed the bar seating for the renowned Flora Bar, located within the Met Breuer building. In 2017 he participated in the annual Sight Unseen OFFSITE exhibition and was named a recipient of the American Design Hot List Award. His work has been published in Domino Magazine, Architectural Digest, Wallpaper, and W Magazine to name a few.
Shown in brown veg tan leather and bronze powder coated steel.
A variety of leather colors and textures are available upon request.
Metal types include powder coated steel, or satin brass, nickel, and copper plate.
