French 19th Century Ebonized Piano Stool

About the Item

A practical, 19th century piano stool made in France with adjustable height for any number of uses around the home. The top cushion is upholstered in a cut-velvet of foliate design in muted blue & green, complemented by brass nailheads tracing the circumference between the seat and the wood base. The center column of the stool has a hidden steel screw press used to raise and lower the seat height, making this a versatile antique for modern times. Carved and turned legs form an elaborate X-shaped stretcher with a decorative center shaft hiding the screw, in a dramatic ebonized effect.
