About the Item

An elegant French 19th century Louis XV st. giltwood stool. The circular stool is raised by elegant casters with a fine wrap around beaded band below most decorative cabriole legs with carved mottled borders and each connected by a beautiful scalloped stretcher with a central foliate reserve. Above each leg is a richly carved cabochon reserve flanking the frieze decorated with wonderful carved arched like movements and delicate etched floral designs. All original gilt throughout.
