French 20th Century Walnut Stool

About the Item

A delightful French walnut footstool, 20th century, with ribbon-twist or barley twist carving on the turned legs. The rectangular top is formed with two planks, studded at each corner with forged iron nails, resting on a carved apron, very similar to joint stools of two centuries prior. The ensemble is elevated by four turned legs carved with a twisting, fluted design and connected in pairs by plain side stretchers. With its light patina and lovely grain pattern, this stool–whether for seating or as a small side table–will bring a touch of authenticity to any space. Cleaned and polished with French paste wax, ready for your interior. Be sure to view the detailed images for a closer look.
