About the Item

A French 19th century square piano stool with recent ebonized (painted) finish and reupholstered seat to emphasize the Louis XVI style. The boxy seat–perfect to use as an occasional foot stool– is dressed in a printed linen of foliate motif of light blues and greens, perched on four lovely turned and fluted legs in dark ebonized effect. Connecting the legs is an elaborate, hand-carved and shaped stretcher that meets in the center, and is then topped with a decorative finial.
