We are delighted to offer this sublime circa 1720 George I burr walnut bench stool with ornately carved legs
A very good looking well made and decorative piece with a glorious timber patina. This piece is just over 300 years old, it that time as you would expect it has been repaired and altered, I’m not sure how much of it is original or what alternations have happened over the centuries but given the age I would guess a fair few. This is very common in pieces this old, anything that lasts this long will never remain 100% as new unless its locked away in the royal trust
This piece is expertly hand carved, the timber patina is to die for, its pure art furniture that functions perfectly
We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be age and use related patina marks all over
