George II Red Walnut Stool
About the Item
A good quality George II-period Virginia (or 'red') walnut stool with a shaped apron.
Mid-18th century, circa 1750.
Excellent overall color and patination.
The rising top close-nailed in ‘pointe de Hongrie’ type fabric, and revealing a recess.
The frieze angles chamfered.
Raised on well drawn cabriole legs terminating in pointed pad feet.
A very versatile form of antique Georgian seating that is easily stored away, under under a table, for example.
