A beautiful French Maison Jansen Attributed Curule stool from the mid 20th Century. This exquisite French stool features a rectangular latticed seat with four elegant brass swan heads and a black metal base. The graceful curule form, rooted in ancient Roman seating, is reinterpreted here with a dramatic sculptural silhouette and a touch of Parisian glamour. The combination of patinated black iron and gilded swan motifs creates a sophisticated contrast, making this stool both functional and decorative.
This versatile piece can serve as a stool, accent table base, or decorative object, and is ideal for use in a refined living room, entryway, or dressing area.

Maison Jansen was a Paris-based interior decoration office founded in 1880 by Dutch-born Jean-Henri Jansen. Jansen is considered the first truly global design firm, serving clients in Europe, Latin America, North America and the Middle East. This House was located at 23, rue de l'Annonciation, Paris, and closed in 1989.
