Pair of 19th Century French Black and Gilt Wrought Iron Curule "Dagobert" Stools

About the Item

Place these elegant antique stools as extra seating in a den or game room! Crafted in France circa 1870 and made of solid iron, each chair stands on forged "Dagobert" (or Curule) legs connected with a delicate stretcher ending with round finials, over a pierced apron; the curved seat with circular pierced geometric lattice decor is embellished with rosette medallions in each corner. The heavy Renaissance style seat are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich patinated black finish with gilt accents. Each stool weights over 25 pounds! Measures: 15" W x 14" D x 16.5" H.
