Rare 19th Century John Gerts Victorian Piano Stool

Offering a remarkably well preserved 19th century Victorian piano/organ stool featuring an adjustable swivel seat ranging from 18-21 inches in height designed to conveniently accommodate various musicians and/or instruments. Constructed of solid oak and built to last, this rarely seen three-legged model is adorned with traditional ball-and-claw feet, artisan crafted with ornate cast iron details and solid glass balls. The swivel seat is joined with richly ingrained solid oak planks. Please note any visible seams are neither cracks or the result of damage. This classic antique piano/organ stool is sturdy and structurally sound. Proudly made in the USA circa 1882-1885 by John Gerts, a native German who learned the skill of piano manufacturing in Hamburg before emigrating to Chicago, Illinois in 1870 where he established his original company. He later partnered with William H. Bush and his son William L. Bush to form what is notoriously known as The Bush & Gerts Piano Company in 1885, which was later established as one of Chicago’s top piano manufacturers. The Bush Temple of Music is currently designated as a Chicago Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A truly rare opportunity to own an authentic piece in beautiful condition created by John Gerts just before his rising debut. Price is firm.
