About the Item

Based on the original Rey Collection designed by Swiss designer Bruno Rey in 1971, HAY has teamed up with Dietiker to present the Rey Bar Stool. It retains the functionality and resilience of the classic designs and has been modified in new dimensions to accommodate contemporary lifestyle requirements. Its uncluttered yet distinct design language makes it suitable for using in a wide variety of domestic, public or corporate settings, from living rooms and halls, to cafés and receptions. Rey bar stool width 45 cm 17.72” - depth 49,5 cm 19.5” - height 97 cm 38.2” - seat height 75 cm 29.53” - seat depth 44 cm 17.32” Frame : beech water-based lacquered deep black. Glider: standard glider. Designer Bruno Rey was born in 1933 Brugg, Switzerland. After an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker, he studied at the Zurich School of Applied Arts, where he attended classes with the pioneering designer Willy Guhl. He opened his own studio in 1968, working on an innovative chair design that was mass produced in 1971 by Dietiker in Stein am Rhein. 3300 as the chair was originally called, later became known as Rey, the most successful Swiss chair of all time. HAY has collaborated with Dietiker to present the Rey Collection by Bruno Rey, comprising the Rey Chair, Rey Stool, Rey Bar Stool, Rey Table and Rey Coffee Table.
