About the Item
Inspired by the beauty of the moon and a found piece of granite, this tabouret (or stool) is a minimalist dream (especially for Scandinavian and Danish design lovers). Simple, yet elegant and functional, this stool exists to highlight the beauty of the earth through the support of the moon. The Luna is designed for placement anywhere you need a seat (this one specifically lives in the designer's apartment and she uses it as a part of her dressing routine). It can also be used as a low table for a candle, photos, or trinkets. This is a great addition to a closet, bedroom, living room, gallery, or entryway. The base is wood (pictured here is walnut but it is available in other wood options) and the seat is diverted stone. These pieces are generally produced as the stone becomes available, but can be produced on demand; if interested inquire. Given the nature of this material and the sourcing, each Luna Stool is a one-of-a-kind piece. This is the second of our diverted stone collection which includes our Türmchen incense burners. The luna is a fully customizable piece, we are happy to offer the luna in a variety of wood and stone combinations.

studio apotroes, is a sustainable material and furniture company challenging existing understandings of what home looks and feels like to create the future of living. Marrying traditional and new fabrication techniques and materials studio apotroes aims to push the boundaries on the contemporary understanding of furniture design and materiality to provide a new image of sustainability that is inclusive of multiple aesthetics. Through our designs and products, we want to not only offer practical home goods designed to last multiple lifetimes but also explore what and how those goods can be produced to outlive the owner with minimal environmental impact. A majority of our pieces are made in our San Antonio and NYC-based studios but also partner with local craftspeople to bring some of our other designs to life. studio apotroes is not a big box store or a mass production company, we are a small design studio that wants customers to love and cherish each piece they bring into their home for generations to come.
