About

A rare pair of 19th century Swedish Gustavian window seat stools with padded armrests, newly upholstered in Fine de Le Cuona Belgian linen, Urban Linen, color stone. The seat frame features beautifully carved acanthus leaves that are repeated on the arms and legs.

The Gustavian style, named after King Gustav III of Sweden, is a restrained interpretation of the French Louis XV and Louis XVI style. King Gustav III was enamored with the neoclassical style and therefore created his own interpretation for Sweden.
