Very Rare 19th Century 1880 Italian Venetian Grotto Fantasy Stool Height Adjust

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this exceptionally rare original 19th century circa 1880 Italian Venetian height adjustable Grotto Fantasy stool after the genius that is CIE Pauly What a piece, it is absolutely amazing, this has to be one of the most iconic designs to come out of Venice Italy, this stool is sculptural, sophisticated and works well in any setting. Ideally suited as a piano or dressing table stool In terms of the condition there will be good honest patina marks all over, none of which the restoration process was designed to hide, we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, Dimensions: Height 58cm adjustable up to 71cm Width 43cm Depth 47.5cm Seat height 46cm adjustable up to 59cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
