Made in Buckinghamshire, England, circa 1820. A charming early 19th-century child's Windsor armchair, made in Buckinghamshire, England, circa 1820. This piece exemplifies the regional tradition of English country craftsmanship, constructed predominantly from richly toned yew wood with a beautifully figured elm seat, showcasing swirling grain patterns and deep natural character. The hoop back features a finely pierced central splat flanked by slender stick spindles, with curved arms supported by turned baluster arm supports. The sculpted seat, formed from a single slab of elm, rests above turned legs joined by a classic crinoline stretcher, providing both stability and graceful visual balance.
