Beautiful and rare art deco 1930s dental cabinet by The American Cabinet Co

About the Item

Father Time has been kind to this incredible Art Deco dentist’s cabinet… Produced by The American Cabinet Co. in the 1930s, it has amazing colour and wear and features 10 drawers of varying sizes, as well as a hidden compartment in the top which houses an original milk-glass trough insert. They’ve thrown every material going at this beautifully curved design - from its solid wood carcass to its melamine fronted drawers, metal drawer interiors, stylish black Bakelite handles, and polished steel trim running along its top and base which highlights that classic Deco streamlined form. The American Cabinet Co of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, was founded in 1880 by J.E. Hamilton of the Hamilton furniture company. By the late 19th Century they had gained notoriety for their high-quality medical cabinetry, and especially dental cabinets. This rare and particularly well preserved example comes in original, clean and unrestored condition, is structurally sound with some rust patches to the metal drawer interiors and just the right amount of ware and fading to it’s pale green exterior. Complete with a manufacturer’s badge both inside the top drawer and on its reverse, It would make a stylish storage option and a total statement piece with that exceptional colouration.
