18th century Danish oak dome top coffer
About the Item
18th century Danish oak dome top coffer circa 1790.
Beautiful dome top coffer made from solid oak, and decorated with ornate strap work. Lid opens to reveal a partially fitted interior consisting on a candle box.
Strap work on both ends and over the middle, which is continued with the carrying handles each end. Original key and working lock. Traces of original hand painted gilt motifs to the front surface.
Expected minor age shrinkage in between wood joins, minor surface marks and discolourations to metal work. Structurally strong and ready for everyday use.
