18th Century Rustic Country French Doughbox ~ Petrin ~ Credenza

About the Item

18th Century Rustic Country French Doughbox ~ Petrin ~ Credenza was crafted by a capable artisan from the woods at hand, designed for serving double duty as a place to prepare dough for baking, and a spacious drawer for storing all the accouterments necessary for the operation! The no-nonsense design includes a reinforced plank top with forged iron strap hinges inside, a classic tapered shape to the doughbox itself, and an intriguing stand that provides the proper height for working with the legs firmly attached to the angled sides of the doughbox, rather than just stuck on the bottom where a few decades later they might work loose. The artisan also took the opportunity to install the aforementioned drawer with turned knob, which affords copious storage! Excellent as a credenza, along a hallway, on a stairwell landing, or anywhere a shallow, country styled piece is desirable! Circa 1790s Measures 28H x 40.5W x 18D
