This versatile set serves multiple purposes: it can function as blanket chests, planters, or in the case of the taller piece as storage for umbrellas or perhaps as ashtray. The lower pieces contain casters underneath. Designed by the renowned Italian architect and designer Carlo Bartoli (1931–2020), these works are instantly recognizable for their distinctive style.
In the 1970s, design sought to transcend the strict conventions of modernism, embracing the exploration of material qualities, the use of vivid pop colors, and forms that were both symbolic and unconventional. This set reflects that spirit while embodying Bartoli’s signature approach, defined by simplicity, clarity, and the absence of superfluous ornamentation.

Carlo Bartoli
Carlo Bartoli, born in Milan in 1931, is an Italian architect and designer. He created many successful works, such as the Gaia armchair, included in the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Design Museum of the Milan Triennale. Bartoli was awarded the ADI Compasso d'Oro for Lifetime Achievement.
