Exceptional 14th Century Saxon Oak Chest

About the Item

Rare and exceptional 14th century oak chest from Saxony. With double quatrefoil decoration to the top, this piece is most likely from the Luneberger Moor region of Lower Saxony, Germany. Lattice end construction and huge stile feet, the thick oak lid has been cut directly from the curve of the tree. Bottom boards are historic replacements. Germany, Circa 1350.
