About the Item

An early blanket or keepsafe chest having flat hinged top over front with geometric molded decoration, lightly canted sides with integral shaped feet and boarded back. Featuring original hand-forged iron hinges, chip-carving to edges of front and top, and a row of early rose head nails along lower front face. Excellent preserved wear to lift top and great color throughout. Useful at the base of a bed, in front of a sofa or as a drinks table next to an armchair.
