Rare Dutch Colonial Solid Teak Brass Inlay Strong Box With Padlock & Handles

About the Item

Rare Dutch East India Strong Box uncompromisingly made from solid teak. This was meant to be a vault and has stood the test of time. Dovetailed joints and exquisite joinery work with cast iron handles and brass padlock hardware. Inside it houses a tray and has side compartments. Brass inlay on the surface. Sits on bun feet. A truly unique chest not to be seen again that can be used at the foot of the bed or as a coffee table or simply placed in a foyer for storage or a bench and enjoyed as a conversation piece. Good condition. Sturdy construction.
