About the Item

Beautiful Large Victorian Pine Mule Chest Trunk or Blanket Box Dating from the late 1800s / early 1900s Victorian Pine chest with lift-up hinged lid. Wonderful, worn look and great patina that can only be produced through age and use. Made of solid pine it is quite substantial and spacious and could serve a variety of purposes in any home. It is ideal for use as blanket box or perhaps for storing clothes, a nice alternative to a traditional chest of drawers. The chest is rectangular with a lift up lid to the top which opens to reveal a clean and spacious interior. At the bottom of the chest are two spacious drawers which are finished with turned wooden handles. Raised on 4 turned legs, typical of the Victorian era Interior with a small compartment for small items, used in the past as candle box The wood has a waxed finish which is fairly matt. Versatile unit that could be used as sideboard or storage for your living, for large entrances or end of bed for storage, etc This is a strong and sturdy solid pine box, it is made in good quality pine, the box has a lovely patina, it is quite original, it has never been painted or stripped Condition: Unit is in good/used condition. Plenty of knocks and scrapes. Cleaned and waxed But nice and sturdy just baring the usual signs of age. Signs of old woodworm at the bottom of the unit but not alive now.
