Small Charles II Period Oak Paneled Coffer

About the Item

A Charles II period oak coffer of paneled construction and small size. The two panels on the front are carved with a four-pointed foliate motif inside a diamond below a horizontal rail carved with scrollwork on a punched ground. The top also features two panels. All the panels surrounded by molded rails. Stamped "TS" on the left hand side, bottom rail. Inside is a small compartment or "till" with hinged lid on the right hand side. Paneled on the back as well. Retaining an outstanding color and patina.
