    An antique mid to late 19th century William and Mary style Mule Chest with a hinged lid that opens to a blanket chest storage area with two false drawer fronts at the top. Underneath, there are three graduated drawers. Brass escutcheons and pulls. A bit of history on the Mule Chest from the Columbia Daily Tribune website, "This unique piece of furniture has a lid that lifts from the top and a drawer or drawers below. A mule chest stands on legs or brackets and off of the floor, and most have locks. In Colonial homes, closets were virtually nonexistent.
