About the Item
A 1960's teak wood 2-tier bookcase by Hans Olsen. The lower tier has 2 doors, 3 internal drawers on the left (2 with green cloth) on the left and a shelf on the right. The upper tier has 7 shelves. Both tiers are sealed on the back.
Hans Olsen (1919 - 1982) was a Danish furniture designer. He graduate in the Royal Danish Academy's Furniture School, where he studied under Kaare Klint from 1941 to 1943. In 1953, he had already established his own brand of furniture where he showed his capacity to experiment with both forms and materials. As one of the first Danish designers who used bent laminated wood on his work, Olsen established himself as one of the constant names at the Cabinetmakers Guild of Copenhagen's most important shows.
