19th Century French Ebony and Boulle Bookcase/Vitrine
About the Item
A handsome bookcase or china cabinet made in France in the last half of the 19th century. The case is in ebonized wood (including the top), and is curved at each side. There are three front doors with glass fronts and brass trim which open to reveal a velvet lined shelved interior. Below the top is a wide frieze which is in Boulle work. The case is further decorated with gilded bronze mounts throughout.
